A marble round cheese board, in particular, offers a beautiful and cool surface and will not absorb smells as easily as wood, though marble is still porous and requires care.

Marble is a dense material and able to retain a large amount of thermal mass, it means that boards made out of this material will provide the best temperature zone for your cheese, helping them to keep cool and not melt. For this reason, marble platter is the best choice for serving pastry, candy and chocolate.

Glass Serving Boards

Glass is almost a perfect material for cheese, because it is non-porous and requires no maintenance. Another benefit that glass stands out from other cheese boards is that glass is nearly impervious to scratches from kitchen and cheese knives, which are likely to remain in the same top condition over the next few years.

There's only one thing to care about glass, is that it can have a tendency to be loud when cutting on glass sound, also known as the worst sound in the world.

Shampoo, body wash, soap or even body oil can cause etching of the stones if spilled.  The question then arises is that can we really use travertine for bathrooms and showers?
The answer is yes.
You can have your travertine bathroom bath tubs in bathroom and keep it safe from harm by choosing the right finish and sealer. First of all, travertine in smooth finish could be slippery if wet, so it is better to choose honed finish to travertine product , you can use the naturally textured and rustic looking tumbled travertine tubs. These two finishes are more effective in wet places. Once the finish has been selected, a good sealer should be used to properly seal the tiles. This will provide the adequate protection against the absorbent nature of travertine.
Thus travertine can easily be used for bathtub in bathrooms if it is installed properly and right finish and sealer is used. Rather it is recommended to use travertine in bathrooms because of the stone’s beauty and long life.

Water drops can stain the tub, so don’t forget to wipe down your stone bathtub with a soft cloth after every use. Avoid pouring any colored liquids down your bathroom stone tub, such as fruit juice or red wine.

Never use abrasive or acid-based cleansers on your stone tub as they can scratch, etch or stain the bathtub. Mild cleaners work well on most stone, but granite requires special stone cleansers, follow the stain removal instructions exactly.

Some stone require sealing to ensure they are properly sealed, such as limestone, travertine and sandstone. In a general way, stones with an open grain need to be resealed more often, say once half a year, this can be done by using appropriate wax. Close-grained stone can be sealed once per year with stone sealer.

What is Natural Stone Bathtub

There is nothing better than relaxing with a confortable natural stone bathtub after a long day. Many people may have a question, what is the natural stone bathtub and what is the difference of natural stone bathroom bathtub and the one in other material? It is quite important question to make sure you select the right bathtub for your need.
Natural stone is exactly what its name implies, completely natural forming stone, which has existed forever and is quarried at various locations all over the world. Depending on the location that the stone is quarried will determine its color and the type of stone and shape that it takes. Natural stone is completely unique and every piece will be different, with no two pieces alike. There’s no guarantee that a natural stone bathtub be with same veins and color same as the pictures showed on the website, and this is a common complaint about natural stone as no one can guarantee Mother Nature’s product.
Natural stone also has a very large spectrum in terms of color, style, structure, porosity and price. It’s mostly this large variation in color and veining that accounts for the main difference between natural stone and solid surface stone. When it comes to natural stone, the price can never really be determinant of quality or function, as a higher priced piece can actually turn out to be porous, making it softer and easier to scratch, so it’s always advised that when choosing a natural stone bathtub or bathroom piece, that price alone should never be the deciding factor in choosing which stone is best for you.
